Brokerage Relocates Chicago HQ From Nearly 20-Year Home

Transwestern Real Estate Services is set to move its Chicago headquarters to 123 N. Wacker Drive, signing a 35K SF lease for the tower’s penthouse suite.
The real estate services firm will occupy the top three floors of the building and has a private outdoor space, with a move-in set for fall 2026. Transwestern will be leaving its 200 W. Madison St. location after almost two decades.

New Hilton Partnership Marks Further Expansion Into Furnished Apartments

Hilton has launched a partnership with Placemakr, an apartment hospitality brand and operator specializing in short-term and extended-stay rentals. The team-up will allow Hilton to further capitalize on burgeoning demand for extended-stay rentals. 
Hilton already has 10,000 apartment-style units globally and will add up to 3,000 new units through its deal with Placemakr, according to a release. Hilton plans to “significantly grow its apartment-style inventory over the next few years” through this partnership and future agreements.

Vision & Beyond, co-founders indicted for $50M bank fraud conspiracy

A grand jury has indicted Vision & Beyond and co-founders Stanislav Grinberg and Peter Gizunterman for a $50 million bank fraud conspiracy. The Israeli entrepreneurs allegedly double-pledged properties to obtain multiple loans and worked with two title company employees to hide information from lenders and investors. Grinberg and Gizunterman, who met while serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, founded Vision & Beyond in 2019 and acquired 100 apartments and residential properties in and around Cincinnati, with the goal of renovating the properties. Woman who first accused Oren, Alon Alexander of rape found dead

One of the women who accused Oren and Alon Alexander of sexual assault was found dead last year.  Whiteman was one of two women who sued the brothers under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. The Real Deal first reported the lawsuits in June 2024, which kicked off a wave of women coming forward with similar allegations against twins Oren and Alon, along with older brother Tal, that culminated in their December 2024 arrests.  Whiteman was found dead near Sydney, Australia, The New York Times reported.
