Trump Issues Order To Restrict Large Institutional Investors’ Ability To Buy Single-Family Homes

President Donald Trump issued an executive order Tuesday aimed at stopping large institutional investors from buying single-family homes.
“It is the policy of my Administration that large institutional investors should not buy single-family homes that could otherwise be purchased by families,” Trump wrote in the EO.
The EO does not actually prevent the purchase of houses by Wall Street investors but rather moves to block them from receiving federal funding and says the government will review large single-family home portfolio acquisitions under antitrust laws. It includes a carve-out for build-to-rent communities. 

Summit’s deal with Pinnacle, by the numbers

Summit Properties last week won its battle to purchase a portfolio of thousands of New York apartments from Pinnacle Group. Nursing home moguls Daryl Hagler, Kenneth Rozenberg sued for self-dealing

Nursing home operators Daryl Hagler and Kenneth Rozenberg are facing more pressure from a New Jersey state agency for misusing Medicaid funds The New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller sued Hagler and Rozenberg along with their associates for “exploiting the operation” of two nursing homes, the Deptford Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare and Hammonton Center, according to NJ.com. The watchdog agency said it found pervasive, systemic and longstanding violations of law and a “troubling pattern” of profiteering by Hagler, Rozenberg and their associates.
