Cannon Hill Capital lands $130M refi for Netflix’s Union Square offices

Cannon Hill Capital and its partners refinanced their Netflix-leased Union Square office building to the tune of $130 million. DekaBank and Crédit Agricole provided the financing for 888 Broadway, the owner told The Real Deal. In addition to Netflix, the 220,000-square-foot building — which includes an annex next door at 38 East 19th Street — is home to the software company Atlassian. The retail is leased to ABC Home & Carpet and a trio of restaurants run by Jean-Georges. Barbara Corcoran buys Fifth Avenue penthouse for $16M

Barbara Corcoran just nabbed a new co-op on Fifth Avenue.  The founder of the Corcoran Group and “Shark Tank” investor paid $16 million for a penthouse at 1016 Fifth Avenue in what appears to be an off-market deal, according to public records. City names Rybak developer of 505-unit Coney Island project

The New York City Economic Development Council has tapped Coney Island-based Rybak Development to lead the next phase of the sweeping redevelopment effort in Coney Island. The announcement comes eight months after the mayor’s office released a request for proposals for a developer to build a 500-unit project on Surf Avenue between West 21st and 22nd Streets. Albany lawmakers target insurance hikes squeezing affordable landlords

New York legislators are taking aim at the insurance crisis battering affordable housing landlords.  A trio of bills unveiled this week would create a $50 million fund and ramp up oversight of insurers after years of spiraling premiums that advocates say threaten the city’s low-income housing stock, Bisnow reported. Assembly member Emérita Torres, who represents the South Bronx, introduced the measures after a study by the National Equity Fund and Enterprise Community Partners found that insurance costs for affordable buildings have more than doubled since 2017, from $712 to $1,495 per unit. Hang Dong Zhang finally gets to work on Jackson Ave luxury condos

Six years after Hang Dong Zhang purchased a site in the Court Square section of Long Island City, BZ Development Group is ready to do something with it. The Flushing-based firm filed demolition plans with the Department of Buildings for its site at 23-08 Jackson Avenue, Crain’s reported.
