In two weeks, possibly sooner, we will know where new casinos will rise in New York City. It seems one proposal just dodged a speedbump.  On Friday, a state Supreme Court judge temporarily barred the city from inking a new lease with Steve Cohen that would allow his development to be built on Citi Field’s parking lots. NYC’s top deals: Extell sells another luxury pad at 50 W. 66th for $45M

There were 173 transactions totaling $274 million recorded in New York City from 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 through 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025. 🏆 Residential: The top residential transaction recorded in New York City was on the Upper West Side. A sponsor unit at Extell Development Company’s 50 West 66th Street traded for $44.9 million. The buyer was Pipedream 66 LLC. The nearly 7,000-square-foot pad has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half baths. Brooklyn luxury contracts notch slow week

After several strong weeks, Brooklyn’s luxury market slowed down. The borough saw 15 contracts — five condos and 10 houses — signed between Nov. 10 and Nov. 16 for a total asking volume of $49 million. The total was down from the previous week, which saw 27 contracts signed for $80 million.  The priciest property to snag a signed contract was a historic mansion on a sprawling plot of land south of Prospect Park.  Built in 1904, the 5,000-square-foot home on 1221 Albemarle Road scored a contract with a last asking price of $6 million, according to Compass’ weekly report. Bay Area Recall Votes Over Housing Could Chill Zoning Reform

Local politicians in Northern California who support greater density or rezoning efforts aimed at adding new housing to neighborhoods are increasingly targeted for recall. 
The recalls threaten to hamper attempts to pave the way for new affordable housing to shelter growing populations and keep cities in compliance with state law. The votes are adding a fresh layer of uncertainty for developers seeking to build under new or proposed rules.
